More Information Lost in Bass is back at New Earth! This night is all about exposing fresh, up and coming electronic producers, and doing it big - with extra bass and more lights. Last spring our friends at Snowflake Entertainment brought you Minnesota for the first time...and now, on Friday May 4th, they are teaming up with REP Atlanta to bring GRiZ and Wick-It the Instigator to New Earth
GRiZ (Dubstep/Glitch - Detroit, MI)
A true pioneer and master of musical expression, GriZ (Grant Kwiecinski) stands head-and-shoulders above the competition in terms of the sheer variety of his ever-evolving technical prowess. A tremendously passionate and soulful producer, GriZ has a peerless knack for creating profoundly engaging melodies to offset the presence of his phenomenally designed bass. Where many artists become mired in a over-simplified and standardized method of production for the sake of creative efficiency; GriZ has no qualms sacrificing speed for the sake of quality, technical diversity, and an unrelenting devotion to progress and dynamism. Beginning his saga as a producer at the young age of fourteen, it is immediately evident that his talent and devotion will lead him on a journey of exceptional musical diversity and exploration. From funky rhythms to jazzy melodic embellishment, GriZ effortlessly incorporates his instrumental zeal for the saxophone with his lifelong dedication to soulful, laser-infused beat-making. This is only the beginning for Grant, and already the stylistic range of his material is both inspirational and utterly awe-inspiring.
WICK-IT the INSTIGATOR (Dubstep/Electro/Hip-Hop - Nashville, TN)
He’s got a reputation for doing some thoughtfully fresh and mindblowingly original remixes that take him from beyond a standard dub step or mash-up artist to a DJ/producer with skills that have turned heads and caught ears all over the Southeast. In a live setting, he sends people off with his mix of humor, ingenious pop culture samples and beats that can’t be touched. While his roots are firmly planted in hip hop (he first gained mass recognition with his acclaimed Brothers of Chico Dusty mashup/remix tape of Black Keys and Big Boi), there is no shortage of heavy electronic bass music at a Wick-it show.
SATORU (Electronic/Bass - ATL, GA)
Satoru is a music producer and performer, residing in Atlanta, Georgia. Always staying true to musical composition, the sound of Satoru varies from intense weaving melodic synth melodies to rich emotional soundscapes. Satoru enlightens listeners with intricate glitch hop beats & heavy bass drops.
DECEPTICRON (Electronic/Purple - Athens, GA)
His name is Decepticron, and he is not a robot.
I started mashing tunes together in 2009, and ever since then my life has been one big bass-powered ride. I dropped out my last year of college to make music, and after picking up some steady DJ gigs, I quit my day job. Now I'm flat broke, but I've got great friends, and I'm in the studio working on my first EP, so I couldn't be more excited.
